PROJECT DESCRIPTION  

• At 147,000 SF, the North Georgia Suites consists of two, three/four-story split buildings of approximately 300 beds each which were positioned to work with the natural topography of the site and connected by a central, two-story community center.
• The community's interior layout was designed in a way to encourage student interaction and creates living clusters of 30 residents around a centrally located Community Assistant (CA) suite.
• Safety and Security were key elements in the design of the community and highlights include electronic locks at centralized building entry points and all resident units as well as security cameras located throughout the interior and exterior of the buildings.
• The central Community Center, which connects the two wings of the community and boasts a two-story entry area with stone fireplace and remarkable views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, features extensive common and gathering areas which include SMART classrooms, a community kitchen, a central mailroom, staff offices, online gaming lounge and a traditional game room.
• The AUDG Team was selected by the University in February 2009 following a nationally competitive process and proudly delivered the North Georgia Suites on time and on budget in advance of the Fall 2010 semester.
